The Centers for Disease Control released nationwide study that stated one in four teenage girls had a sexually transmitted disease. The most common sexually transmitted infection in teen girls aged 14 to 19 is the human papilloma virus. The highest overall percentage is among black girls. About half of the black teenage girls (48%) studied had at least one STD, compared to 20 percent among whites and Mexican-American teen. This mean that one out of every two African American girls ages 14-19 has an STD.
