New Business Directory

New Business Directory

We have finally finished the new Business Directory. We are installing it right now as this email goes out. Please go and post your business as more will be coming soon. Here are some of the features below:

Browsing

  • Main summary page
    • All recent listings
    • All categories
  • Individual category views
    • Can be sorted in various ways
  • Searching
    • Search by name and/or keyword, category, location
    • Users can find what they want, where they want
  • Individual listing pages
    • Shows everything that permissions allow for
    • If not entered, some parts are hidden
    • Google Maps showing the listing's location

Business users

  • Business users are users who are allowed to create listings
  • A listing consists of many sections
  • Most sections are governed by permissions
  • If the permission is set, the user can enter the info
  • Sections include:
    • Title
    • Category
    • Default uploaded image
    • Telephone
    • Fax
    • Email address
    • URL
    • Address
    • State (if in U.S)
    • Zip (if in U.S)
    • Country
    • Description
    • Tags / keywords
    • Specials information
    • Hours information
    • Menu details
  • Listings may also include:
    • Google Maps showing the listing's location
    • Creator's profile image
    • Comments and ratings
    • Uploaded / embedded videos & images
      • All media must be approved by listing owner
  • Business users have access to 'My Listings', where they can:
    • View details of their listings
    • Edit their listings
    • Enable / disable their listings
    • Delete their disabled listings
