In this "brave" world we live in, personalities, relationships ,and living conditions are often forged by forces unknown to most of us. One of these forces happens to be"fear." Without bringing that WEBSTER cat into the picture, we may define fear as : 'anxiety; being scared; an emotion aroused by the unknown, a threat or danger.' More accurately, fear may be the "appearance" of the aforementioned meanings. We will deal with those appearances as we continue . The main point is that fear is one of the major factors in creating one's "reality."
Childhood is the stage where most of us are initiated into the illusion of "fear." Our parents/guardians are often the first to instill the 'rule by fear' syndrome. Guidelines and parameters are set as a model by which the child is expected to live up to. Failure to comply with or meet these statutes to the satisfaction of our parents/guardians may lead to some form of punishment. The punishment, be it violent or not, is often laced in overtones of fear. A child will "fear" the consequences of NOT following the orders of the masters. This is not to suggest that parents shouldn't have a right to raise their children in a manner they see fit, it is only an examination of the "manner." Often that "manner" IS by threat or danger. A spanking, whipping, whoopin', or beating is considered a sound method of discipline in many parental minds. Be it deemed wrong or right by others, 'physical pain' becomes the punishment for wrong-doings. Subsequently, the child is likely to view life from the limitations of the 5 senses. (We have way more than 5 senses. "Thinking" is a sense. We do "think", don't we? "Think" so.) Nonetheless, the gasoline for this pollution engine is fear.
If the parents/guardians failed at downloading the fear software to our computers, perhaps the preacher or religious leader will succeed in doing so. Religions are awash with "fear tales" of punishment from a "loving" and "jealous" God. No attempts are made to hide this fact as "God-fearing" and the "fear of God" are terms often used to describe this phenomenon. This fear is often related to punishment for wrong-doings, called 'sin' by most religions. The followers are asked to accept that their inability to beLIEve or follow the statutes of the faith will result in an eternal visit to the fiery furnaces of hell. (Ooohh! Scary, right?) The opposite journey for the 'obedient' follower of a faith may also cause anxiety (fear). For some it may exist as doubts about their faithfulness to the doctrines of the faith. Other "true beLIEvers" suffer from fear of their loved ones who have not accepted the "true faith." This may be a widespread occurance as many people feel they follow, know, or practice the "true beLIEf."
All of the rule by fear that is taught sub-consciously as a child will not automatically cease as one reaches adulthood. In fact, it is more likely to be the driving force in determining one's "reality" or the reality we allow to be created for us. Because most people fear what their "reality" would be if they didn't "work" to "make money", they get a job. Nevermind that "making money" is called 'counterfeiting' and it is considered to be illegal, fear usually wins over. Bills will be paid, laws may be obeyed, bosses at work will be respected (and a whole slew of other things as well) all due to the anxiety (fear) of the consequences (punishment) for not doing so. This is how fear forges many relationships in life.
Fear may be likened to a ferocious looking dog; growling in apparent anger… but deep inside, it's just a sweet little pussy-cat who longs to be loved. Thus, fear is exposed as an "illusion." Just as a lie NEEDS one to beLIEve it for it to have any power, so too does fear DEPEND on one's ignorance (un-awareness) to exist. The greatest fear for most of us is the fear of "death" (another illusion). Being that we exist as spirit "energy", it is provable and comforting to know that "energy is neither created nor destroyed, it simply changes forms." This means we have ALWAYS existed in some "form" or another. Also, being that "change" is an inevitable constant in the universe, it would be senseless and illusory to "fear" that "change" which occurs at the moment of so-called, death. The orchestrators of the Matrix of Fear wish to keep us ignorant of this knowledge. It is by fear that governments also rule and create our realities. For governments the equation is simple, FEAR = CONTROL.
Consider this hypothetical scenario where "fear" may be used as a mechanism for control: A political leader is lecturing to a crowd of supporters at a local auditorium. As he is speaking, a party member walks on stage and whispers in his ear. After a few seconds, the party leader assumes the microphone again and states, "I'm sorry to have to inform you that an odorless, poisonous gas has been detected leaking in the building. It's in our best interest to leave this building orderly and immediately!" It's safe to say that due to fear, perhaps more than a few people will be trampled in a stampede that could follow such an announcement. Yet, here's the twist… what if the information deemed to be so credible was nothing but a BIG lie? Suppose that rival factions staged the diversion , and upon exiting the building to "safety", the members faced sniper fire? Ahhh… see how "fear" may be used to orchestrate control? Now imagine it was a government telling its citizens they were "attacked" by "terrorist" (or 'tehrsts', as Bush says) . Hmmm. In the case of government, fear is used to change laws and/or take away freedoms from the citizens. Such was the case with the utterly ridiculous PATRIOT ACT that followed the government-sponsored, fear campaign on 9/11.
Regardless of who the inducer of fear may be, they understand that fear is greater than any weapon. A car-jacker brandishing a weapon to the head of a victim is TOTALLY dependent on "fear" to do all the work. This way, they don't "have" to use their weapon. In fact the car-jacker may also be a victim of the fear he/she created. This is not to imply that every car-jacker is un-willing to use their weapon, yet most "fear" having to do so as stealing the automobile was the initial intent. Nonetheless, it should be understood that fear is the motivating force in these types of situations. No weapon is stronger than fear; yet, when one learns to conquer fear, the weapon loses ALL of its power as an 'inducer of fear.' Consider this TRUE story of an honorable man who resides here in Atlanta.
While preparing this work, permission was granted to tell this story in its rawest form. Although he said, "Hey, man… feel free to tell da whole story, I have nothing to hide," it will be wise to omit certain details. This great GIANT of a man we call, K.D. is one of the most intelligent, coolest, and wisest brothers you'll ever meet. He is well known in the ATL for his impeccable character, integrity, financial wit/influence, and for his genius at discovering local talent on the Hip-Hop scene. (His groups are known internationally.) He is a father of 5 beautiful children and a husband to a wonderful wife. Now , on to the good part…
This true story involves a gutter-minded thug, known to many of us in ATL as a career jacker. This person is notorious for robbing and shooting people; let's use a portion of his first name and call him, Juan.Juan and K.D. grew up together, so neither was a stranger to how the other was living. Down on his luck and seeking to rob K.D. of a substantial amount of money, Juan made numerous attempts to contact K.D. After avoiding Juan for "fear" that he would be robbed or shot, K.D. looked at his phone as it ranged. Before accepting Juan's call he stated, "Man, I gotta go ahead and face my fears."
After a short convo, the two arranged to meet under the guise of 'doing business'. Although he suspected the jack-move, K.D. refused to carry a pistol to the meeting. After a brief moment as K.D. was seated with his legs crossed, gentleman style; Juan drew-down on K.D. with a pistola pointing it directly at his head. (Yeah, a childhood 'friend!') He shouted to K.D., "Nigga, I hate to do this to ya, but I'm hurtin' right now! I gotta have it! Now give me da fuckin' money!"
K.D. remained calm and seated and 'faced his fears' as he stated, "Man, I knew you would do this. That's why I didn't bring the money. You just gonna have to shoot me… I'm ready."
Juan began to fidget at this moment as his weapon (the inducer of fear) lost ALL of its power! "Don't make me…"
"You gonna shoot ME?" K.D. interrupted. "The only somebody who's willing to deal with you? Nobody in tha A wanna deal with you… your name is mud in the streets. Now let me see you shoot me!"
At this moment, Juan lowers the weapon and starts… … yep, you guessed it… … CRYING!! This gold-toothed, apparent gangsta-ass thug, starts BALLING! I'm talking, snotty-nose, where's-my-mommy type of tears! K.D. stands up and walks over to his would-be robber and consoles him in a hug of brotherly love. Juan begged for forgiveness as he continued the water-works show in K.D.'s arms. Not only was he instantly forgiven, but K.D. drove to a nearby locale and GAVE ( not loaned) Juan $2,000 and said to him, "Get on your feet ,brother… and change your life." Wow!!
A true story! That shows the power of love as well as the power of conquering fear. It also embodies the wisdom found in this Kemetic (Egyptian) proverb: "How easy it is to avenge a wrong, yet how honorable it is to pardon it." Also, K.D. showed us that we ALWAYS have a choice. Even if we don't care to experience the consequences of making a tough decision, it should be remembered that we ALWAYS have an alternative. Fear is the harmful illusion which has the potential to close down the chakras (paralyzing fear) , eventually causing DIS-ease. Fear also releases a hormone in the blood which is secreted into the breast milk of mothers. This is how slave masters ran a plantation of terror; many of the slaves were raised on the 'fear-milk' from their abused mothers. Fear is to be conquered and recognized for its illusory and harmful potential. Fear should NEVER be the "reason" why we give in to a robber, preacher, unjust system, government, police force, husband, wife, spouse, or boss. Because we know the TRUTH of our spiritual nature and we understand that "change" is a universal constant; we can be rescued from the vicious jaws of fear. As the Kemetic proverb reminds us : "The TRUTH gives one courage." Where bravery and courage have a firm foundation, "fear" is NEVER the "rule" that governs. May we learn to conquer ALL of our fears, and learn to forge and create realities that are ruled by LOVE.
Divine love to you ALL!!!
